Today we had our first frost of the season... We went from Summer to Winter... where the hell was Fall? I think we are going to have a harsh Winter this year...why? Because I can predict the weather that well, that's why... Actually, this is why. When I graduated college and started to work full time, I was in the news business, so if it snowed, I HAD to work... so we had blizzards and tons of snow, but no snow days for the media... then I went to work for Snowshoe, and of course, with skiing and snowboarding it's bread and butter in the winter and being the second highest point in West Virginia, we would average over 150 inches of snow a year, and when snow is your business, you work.. no snow days.... I finally come off the mountain end up in Richmond, VA 11 or so years ago. Get full time job and work it for almost 10 years... we had maybe one or two "snow days"... in 10 years!!! It's like Mother Nature said 'Kelly has a full time job not connected to snow, so we will not let him have snow days'. Bitch! The only time it really did snow was on the weekends... arghhh!!! Now that I am working from home and am my own boss, my hunch is that Mother Nature is going to be throwing snow storms at Richmond like kids in a snowball fight...and I will not be able to say that I have a snow day. It will be like any other day for me. Sitting at my computer. Reading blogs. Playing on Facebook. Reading the latest industry articles. Having the dogs go bat shit crazy barking anytime I get on the phone.... So RVA, be prepared... my forecast is for a long harsh, snowy winter. Which I really don't mind. I love snow and so do the dogs. It will be fun! I hope. But I do need to make some money.
That is my rant for now. I have to start getting ready for the big Halloween/Birthday Bash tonight. Pictures will be posted either drunkenly later tonight or tomorrow in state of hangover. If you are partying tonight, have fun and be safe!!
