Monument Avenue 10K

Spring has sprung and it is time for the Monument Avenue 10K... Over 40,000 people run in this event and it pretty much fucks up any kind of getting around the city for the most part of the day... the 10K is on one of America's most beautiful and famous streets... cobblestone and multi-million dollar homes (which I will not have now that people in MD, KS and IL won the Mega)...

Congrats to all 40,000 who finished the race, especially to Mike, Sarah, Steph, Lee, and according to Facebook... Betsy and Keith... you all ran further than I like to drive in a day. Good job!  Hope you feel okay Sunday...

Lotto Fever

I admit, I like the idea of winning the lottery.  I think I get it from my dad.  Since Virginia introduced lottery games, he has been playing.  Not going overboard, but playing with hope he would be able to take care his family and friends.  I feel the same way.  Before, when I was strapped for cash, I would only play now and then when I got a bonus or some windfall.  Now that we have somewhat stable finances, I typically will spend $10 a week on the two big jackpots, PowerBall and MegaMillions.  I would totally be satisfied with winning the $250,000 prize for getting the 5 numbers right.  But I always dream of what it would be like to win the BIG PRIZE.  What I would do.

More than anything, I enjoy seeing people happy and appreciative of things.  I don't want to give someone something just to give it to them.  Tonight, as you can see in picture above, I spent 20 minutes in line and dropped a $20 to get chances at what may be more than a $640 million jackpot when numbers are drawn.  And I can quickly say what I would do with all or a portion of that money (after hopefully not busting my head when I collapse, then pop two Xanax and do a shot to calm myself)... of course I would call my attorney... then after actually getting the money...

*Make sure mine and Jeff's parents are set for life

*Make sure my brother and his family are set for life

*Investments to make sure we do not blow the wad and end up broke... I know a bit about financial planning

*I have several organizations that are dear to me and would work with them to leverage a portion of my winnings to make sure they had what they needed for a while.

*Make sure the friends who have been by our side throughout our lives are happy and worry free.

*Make sure our uncles, aunts and cousins are okay

*Buy a house on Monument Avenue.  I think it is one of the most classic streets in America (and has lot of eye candy to watch from the huge front porch)

*Vacation home (where, depends on winnings)

*Porsche 928 that I have always wanted

*New cars for the both of us...yet to be determined, so many choices

*Finally, throw one hell of a party.

Problem is, I think God will not let me with the lottery because he knows I would probably screw up, party all the time and take down a good portion of my friends and the Richmond population with  me and he is just not ready for that kind of crowd at Heaven's Gates (don't judge, party people are good people too)... So, I will just have to dream like millions of other people tonight, hoping those numbers match up...knowing in the back of my mind that my $20 just went to make someone or several people very rich.  I just hope whoever wins does some good with some of the money... and God forbid no one wins tonight... imagine the jackpot then... $1 billion?

It was Fun for a Cause

Close all the gay bars in Richmond.  Pull together some of the best drag queens and burlesque performers in the city.  Put them all in one room at the same time with 500 on-lookers and you would expect shit to be  flying everywhere, but this past Tuesday the only thing flying were dollar bills and accessories.

Fun for a Cause 2012 took place at the lovely Renaissance Conference Center.  It also happens to be gay owned and operated as of the first of the year.  They have been wonderful the last several years in hosting and donating the space for this event. YAY!

Reann Ballslee and Natasha Carrington were the events fabulous hostesses... Natasha has been head of Fun for a Cause the last two years... fabulous job!!

One of the first drag queens I met when I moved to Richmond.  Many a  night drinking with this wild one... Heaven-Leigh Kennedy always puts on a good show.

Two fabulous hostesses wrapping up the night, and just as you would figure.  In gay time, it went long by a bit... well a lot... but it was fun.

Thank you to everyone who pitched in to get the table.  Joe, Stace, Mary, Sarah, Amanda, Chris and Derek... yall were great company and I hope you enjoyed the evening.  Thanks to everyone involved in putting on a great show.  The event raised money for three great organizations in Richmond.  I think close to $12,000 in about four hours is pretty fucking good.  That does not include the donation of the space, food, lighting, sound, flowers, some nice ass prizes and the performers who donated all their time to make it work.  Also, those who showed up in support.  It is great to have such a large number of great people from the Richmond community to come together and have a good time and help out some great organizations.  Remember, you can continue to support these organization by clicking on their link below or volunteer, or both.  You will be amazed at the work they do.  Okay... enough rambling.  Time for the sofa...

New computer and Fun for a Cause

I realized I have not talked much about my new laptop I got several weeks ago.  Life has been pretty busy.  Anyway I got this computer and so far I love it!  While many of you are going smaller with laptops and notepads, I went bigger with my laptop.  I plan on doing a little more watching of shows on the computer and maybe even putting together more videos, thus I wanted a bigger screen.  Though the size is a bit bigger, it weighs no more than my other laptop.  I think I have now gotten everything transferred over and we are good to go.  So far this one seems faster.  I love the screen and it is has the beats audio.  It does not sound like a regular computer when you listen to movies, music or porn.  It's got a little more base and with headphones, even better.

I am and have been lazy on the photo front, but I promise to get better.  Tomorrow will be the test of that as we head out to Fun for a Cause.  Camera is charged, gonna make sure phone is charged and we will be good to go...10 of us went in together and got a table up front.  If you are in Richmond, you should go!!  Drag queens and kings, artist and just pure fun... all money raised goes to The Fan Free Clinic, ROSMY and the Gay Community Center of Richmond. "to do" list update and a birthday

I was good on Friday.  I got everything on the "to do list" done except the workout at the gym.  But I did have a fabulous lunch with Mike and Sarah at The Republic, a place I have not eaten at before.  So a nice little bonus.

Saturday was our friend Stace's birthday...

We started off at Kitchen 64 where we learned or buddy Alex will not be bar tending much longer on Saturdays... boo! but he will be joining us Tuesday for Fun for a Cause... YAY!

There was much fun and drinking (a little drama), but all in all a good time.  The thing about birthdays is to have a story to tell.  I think Stacy has a great story to tell this year.  We stepped out of our comfort zone and did something at a place we were really not accustomed to and the regular patrons were probably wondering why in the hell this group of people were here.  So they probably are telling stories about these people who came into their regular watering hole and changed things up a bit this week... sometimes change is good... or at least gives you something to talk about for a few weeks.

To do list...

I have taken Friday off to get some things done around the house and out and about since the weekend seems to be a wash for wet weather... so here is my to do list.  Let's see how much I get done.
*cut grass
*clean out fireplace
*drop bags off at Fan Free Clinic
*Lowe's: grass seed, fertilizer, paint swashes, weed killer, look at patio furniture, price floor tile
*Go to Body Pump workout
*spread grass seed and fertilizer in yard
*vacuum
*dust a little
*maybe drink somewhere along the line
*golf has been mentioned and if that happens, half the shit above goes out the window

There you have it.  My plans for my impromtu day off.  Of course, there is the possibility I will have to go into work as a major project is underway and if duty calls, I will need to go in... and honestly, I would not mind if it makes this project a reality... hang on to your seats my fair readers... all 12 of you... lets see what Friday brings... though it is a day off from work, I may have more work to do than if I went into the office...

Doctors and Vets...

Well, bet-ween my visit to the doctor and a visit from our vet for our three dogs, today was not cheap.  Granted, the dog stuff needed to be done... Rabies updates, Kennel cough, nails, regular check-ups, flean and tick shit... arrghhhh... but it is all done for a year now... then throw on my trip to the doctor today for my follow-up from my blood work... of course the Crestor for the cholesterol...which would have been fine, but we did the deep and dirty test on the blood work and of course family history flew through... but we have caught it early on and I will be good to go... I have been on antibiotics for my acne shit since Thanksgiving-ish, the face has cleared up, but the weight has not stopped climbing... since the start of the year I have been making an effort to get to the gym, but the last 6 weeks or so have been more so and even added core building classes the last 4 weeks, but only gaining pounds.... Jeff and I have been making changes in our diet per the doc, but I have not been able to budge.  So doc prescriped something I can spell in the dark here on my computer, but hopefully it will help with the continued exercise and diet... I go back in a month for updates on progress...

I admit I eat and drink like no other, but I have toned it down a lot and we are working on living a healthier situation here... but it takes time and soon you will hopefully be seeing a more thinner and healthier me here... more shirts off and who knows what else.  Deep conversation with Doc today relates a lot of it to stress (likely brought on by work from our discussion) and I just have to focus... the drugs for cholesterol should be temporary as are the weight one too... just need to calm down... have some folks buy insurance from me and have my producers at work get their numbers up.. then Kelly will be half nekkid again and posting silly shit here... until then... we will see...

PS- I know many of you thought  my liver shit would come back all crazy... but it was just fine, despite my drunken post here and on FB... see, I am not such a drunk...hehehehe

Spring is Sprung...

Well it's official... Spring is here... actually, it has felt like Spring since January here in Richmond.  I guess global warming is to blame, because goodness knows history does not show a history of warm climates and ice ages... anywho... The above pic is our Carolina Jasmine in full bloom.  Other things are starting to pop up around the yard and I even had to cut grass last week, and it looks like it already needs it again... I can tell pollen is in the air as my head and sinuses are starting to get the feeling that major sinus stuff is going to happen...arghhh... I will fight it though!!  Tomorrow I get to go in and see the doctor so he can smack me on the hand about the cholesterol... will see how that goes... and far as I can tell, that really was the only thing in my blood work that was not the best, everything else was acceptable... though we have already started to adjust the diet and I have been going to the gym more (though no weight has been lost)...  I have other things to vent or get on soap box about, but right now, just really want to get some food and watch TV...  I do have a question though, has anyone read Anne Rice's new book?  Debating on getting it... oh, loving my new computer, and that is a blog post I need to make... maybe later....

Green Day

Ahhh the luck of the Irish... Nothing like St. Patrick's Day to give you a reason to drink... and to fall on a Saturday with the NCAA tournament... I would love to see the DUI reports from around the country... and especially around here since Elton John was in town too...

So Jeff and I got up and got our hair did.  Tony is always a trip.  Refuge is his salon.  Check him out.  Tell him we sent you.  Probably won't do any good, but I am sure you can talk smack about us.. hehehe..

After the hair, we headed to Kitchen 64 to see our friend Alex.  Had some lunch and a few drinks...

Green Cosmo...yes, green.  The manager bought a bottle of green food coloring and Alex started turning everything green... so why not a cosmo?

After food, it was time to go home and break out the hammock I got for Christmas... Jeff soaks up the sun in this pic... it was sooo nice out and he is looking sexy, if I do say so myself...

Me, on the other hand, needs more time at the gym... I did get the grass cut though... and then my time in the hammock was nice, until it threw me to the ground.  At that point I knew it was time to go in and watch basketball... pass out and wake up on the sofa with a crick in my neck.  Ahhhh, St. Patrick's Day... Hope yours was a good one... now to veg on sofa for what remains of the weekend.

I really don't know what we are going to do today besides a visit to our favorite hairstylist, Tony... Jeff had been making the plans... maybe time with our niece... maybe cutting grass... maybe both... who knows... but I wish all of you a Happy St. Patrick's Day... and what ever we do, I will try and take pictures for you enjoyment...hehehe

Updates...

Lordy... It has been a bit of a whirlwind around here... the house is a mess and it is my fault... seriously, I cop to this one.  Friday we just hung out at home, Chris came by and we watched TV.  Saturday I did get up early, played on computer and then hit the gym.  Came back, Jeff finally got up, we hit brunch at Kitchen 64 to see Alex and ended up watching ACC Tournament... then I dragged Jeff to Best Buy so I could get me a new laptop.  Yes, liquored Jeff up to take the edge off of dropping the dough on this AWESOME new computer (I will make another post about it another day).  We came home, Joe and Stace came over.  I did not take computer out of box.  I decided the office/closet needed to be rearranged first, so I spent the evening trying to downsize.  Moving clothes to other closets and just throwing stuff here and there, thus a big ole mess now that Jeff did laundry and I don't know where to put things. We drank. Sunday rolls around. Jeff and I decide we will hit the grocery store, but only after we grab some food.  Plans were to eat, shop and to come home and me cut grass, Jeff do laundry (at least he lived up to his end of the deal) and I would get office/closet organized... not so much.  My fraternity brother Steve was bartending at Sullivan's and we may have had a few drinks and a shot with brunch, then Jack from sister bar across the street was bartending so we had to go over and see him...then end up watching ACC Tournament again... it gets fuzzy there... Rumpleminz shots... we are then home, Chinese is ordered, I wake up at the end of GCB's and Jeff is in bed... clothes are folded up in dining room waiting for me to organize... I iron clothes for work.  Clothes are still in dining room. I crawl into bed.  7am rolled up on my ass like a freight train.  Listen to trash truck pick up garbage, realizing, I did not sit ours out... arghh... spend 20 minutes looking for my wallet to find it in my shorts pocket hidden under sweatshirt in corner... drag my ass through work, head pounding... get out of office only to get halfway home to realize, phone is on my desk at work... go back... get phone... go home... realize no dog food... change clothes, go to grocery store... come home have beers and frozen pizza... start transferring pics and stuff to new computer, watch The Voice, iron clothes... am wide awake thinking I should do something with all the clothes in dining room, but just don't feel it... Jeff, honey... I will do something with then tomorrow night, well tonight now... so that has been my last few days... over the next few days I will blog about weight issues, my new computer, and other things... thanks for reading and sorry to bore with no pics...later yall... now maybe I will be able to fall asleep...

Still looking for lottery numbers... and I can't believe an 81 year old woman in DE won over $300 million in the Powerball...arghhh... okay, might be time for bed... 

Voices in my head...

Do you hear them too??  Voices in your head?  They tell you to do something, while other voices say, hold on a moment... ride it out... you will be fine... arghhh... I guess I feel shitty about myself right now... I seem to have packed on a few pounds that the gym is not working off... and just stressed at work... I think I am overstressing at work in my own mind... just have to get over it... do my job and be happy I have one...

I am looking forward to our now booked trip to Charleston, SC for Jeff and Chris's birthday weekend get-a-way... time off from work and doggies (I love them) will be nice... some old southern charm will be a good time...

I want to do more life insurance sales... though I am a broker, I can do stuff on the side for extra bit of dough... so family and friends... hit me up... not only for my sake... but I really want to make sure those close to me have what they need in life and long term care insurance... if you have it... just let me see if it is good for you and your family at this point... man, am I whoring myself out... just keep me in mind...

Now I need to haul my ass to bed... Love to you all! (Especially my Jeff)

Just some random thoughts today.

*"GCB's" on ABC.  You know a show is either going to be really good or really bad when the opening scene is a hot guy running away with his hot mistress in a hot Porsche with a load of money, then both are killed in car wreck when he runs off the road while getting a blow job... Yes, this was on ABC.  The show is actually fucking hilarious and looks like it will be a lot of fun.  I just hope they can keep it up for a coupld of seasons

*Nothing pisses me off more than having everything covered in snow, yet the roads are just wet.  Not enough cold air to make it a snow day...AGAIN!!! 

*Heat pump crapped out last night and the house was COLD this morning.  Did I mention cold wet snow too.  Thank goodness Jeff was off today and was able to reschedule his Doc and Dentist appointments so the landlord could get someone over here to fix it.  Nice and warm now.

*Up and down day at work. Would love to go into details but I need to keep my job.  Unless someone would like to support me for a couple of years.

*Going to book our rooms for Charleston, SC for Easter Weekend (which is really Jeff and Chris's birthday weekend)... see what we can get...

Anywho... I want to win the lottery.

I thought I had something to say...

I thought I had something to say, but really, just have to ramble a bit.  Vodka/Mio does that to me these days, I guess.  The Absolut bottle above is sweet.  Special Edition for San Fran... Google it to see what the flavor is, but I must tell you, it is good as part of a Cosmo... ran across this a couple a weeks ago at brunch when we went to Stella's... apparently it was initially an accidental purchase... and I more than paid for that accident... mmm cosmo... 

In other news... just came off a long week at work... boss was out of town and lots of stuff got shifted my way.  Though is was sometimes stressful, it did make the days go by fast (and a bit longer), but hopefully it will pay off... 

After a lot of himming and a hawin'... Jeff and I decided last week we needed the house to be cleaned and cleaned good... we are lazy.  With a little extra money from tax returns we decided to hire someone to come and clean the house.  They will be here Saturday and they will have their hands full...but it will be worth it.  They (she) comes highly recommended by my boss at work and she is very inexpensive... when she is done and hopefully does a good job, I will post how cheap it was (or not)... She seemed sweet on the phone, so, we will see...

Tonight, we got home from work... both of us had long weeks... we did our typical kiss and then time alone to decompress at our computers... Jeff ordered stuff for something, I blog hopped...next thing you know, it is almost 8... neither of us wanted to cook and I did not want to order Chinese... a bloomin' onion got on my mind and so it was to Outback we went... funny how straight people are in a chain restaurant, especially whe it was REALLY busy... but we were lucky to cop a couple spots at the bar and hung out for a while... we had the onion, drinks, dinner and people watched... the bartenders were very cool to chat with and then we came home.  Watch DVR'd shows... Jeff is now asleep on sofa.. and I am heading to bed... as you probably are if you have read this far...

I want...

*I want a new laptop (mine is on it's last screen)
*I want a new HDTV (ours is over 6 years old and about had it)
*I want new surround sound with new HDTV
*I want to sell more insurance so I can buy the above items

Do I NEED these things, NO (well, the laptop is touch and go and to sell more insurance would just be a plus-- call me!!).  I sound like a spoiled brat, but honestly, with the passing of close family and friends and then all the famous people kicking it too... it makes you wonder.  Should you just enjoy what you want while you can... Sure, it might dip into savings.  Sure, I might have to do some side work for some extra dough.  But, being able to enjoy things that make me smile, cry and laugh (TV and Movies) might make it all worth the effort, especially if my hubby is there to enjoy it with me.  I know there are people who need a lot more things a lot worse than I need want material things, but I dunno... so many thoughts through the few brain cells I have left... but thoughts none the less. Now I lay me down to sleep... Can anyone do a Tarot Card reading for me... what does my future hold... I am doomed to want, want, want??? Okay, I am being silly... I need to hit the hay... hope your Friday is a good one!!

Charleston, SC....anyone out there??

Okay... we are heading to Charleston, SC April 5-8 to celebrate Jeff and Chris's birthdays... Derek, Chris's man, wanted to take him there for the weekend and thought it would be a good get-a-way for Jeff's birthday too... Jeff's is the 6th and Chris's on the 8th... Now I just have to figure where I wanna go on my birthday...hmmm... anyway, we are starting to look at places to stay and are looking for suggestions, along with things to see and do... If you are in Charleston, SC or know some good connections, hook a blogger up... we have to be budget concious... really want to stay downtown or at least within stumbling distance... It will be Easter weekend, but we are heading down Thursday and heading back to Richmond on Easter Sunday... suggestions are welcome...
