Movie Weekend prior to Oscar noms today...

The weather in Richmond sucked ass ALL weekend, so after catching up on all of our DVR'd stuff, Jeff and I kicked into movie mode.  Late Friday night we tore into a weekend of movies... first up...

Colombiana was a great movie... it is a mix of the TV show ALIAS and Revenge... Zoi kicks ass... and then there is the cutie Michael Vartan...mmmm... Then we slept in on Saturday and then strolled our ass out of bed to a late brunch at Kitchen 64 (howdy Alex)... and then took in the new 3D Underworld Awakening...

Awakening was pretty kick ass, especially if you have been a fan of the previous 3 like Jeff and I and then to see the new one in 3D... nice... and there apparently will be another one... and Kate Beckinsale is kick ass and looks fucking good for a 42 year old (did you see her at the Globes...HOT!!).... and since I watched Columbiana on Friday night, it was agreed I would get to watch a movie Saturday night that I wanted...

Moneyball... I am buying this DVD for my dad, my best friend Sloan and recommend that if you are a baseball fan, you watch this movie.  Granted, I wanted to watch it for Brad... the movie was really, really good... Brad was great and Jonah did an awesome job playing a serious role... watch it... it is up for a few Oscars... Then Sunday rolled around and we had brunch with Joe at FW Sullivan's and hit up studley famous Richmond DJ/Bartendar/writer..etc... Jack Lauterback at Lady Nawlin's for their one year anniversary... weather still shitty, so we stopped at Kroger on the way home, got some fire logs and hit the Red Box for more movies... and Jeff picked them out...
Jeff actually pickes out Midnight in Paris...a Woody Allen movie?  Though Jeff's thinking was that it was nominated for a Globe and I would want to see it... sweet... and well, not being a Woody Allen fan, I really liked this movie.  I actually hope it does win one of the Oscars it is nominated for... Not to give away plots and all, but the way Allen interacts today with famous folks of the past is very clever and I liked it alot... rent it, buy it... etc... So after an Oscar calibar movie, it was dark out and the fire was going, so we threw in the lasted Fright Night...

Main reason for renting this one was Colin...GRRRRR!!! If you have seen the original, this one does not live up to it, but it is not too bad... I watched the whole thing... Jeff, not so interested... I will honestly say, wait until you can see it for free...it is cheesy fun...

We also rented The Ides of March, but Jeff is not into politics and we have yet to watch it... I think I will get to it soon... it is only a $1 a day to keep it, so we will see it... at least I will... and hopefully get in more of the Oscar nominated movies before the show...

I will end this now... you all are bored... I will post on other stuff from this week later...

I don't get out to the movies much, so I rely on you to keep me abreast of the news.

Yeah, I don't get out to movies much, either. Thanks for the reviews so I'll know what to see when I do get out!
