Long week

This week was busy for me at work.  I just hope that the work that I did leads to something or I am going to be up shit creek in a few months.  The economy is killing me at work.  I am thankful I have a job right now, but if things don't pick up, that could change.  Oh well, it will be what it will be.  I have come to the conclusion I do need to put a little focus on selling life insurance on the side to make some extra cash.  We are very close to paying off the Pacifica and I would like to start taking that money and throwing it towards my huge student loan.  Also, want to start putting more money in savings so Jeff and I can vacation and do other things without worrying about making it paycheck to paycheck.  Thank goodness the last couple of months have been good thanks to some life policies I have sold, but I don't have anything working right now and need to get on it.  SO, if any of you out there need life insurance or know someone who does, let me know!  I am licensed in VA, but if it makes financial sense I will get licensed in another state to make a sale.  Other than work and those worries, the week was pretty tame, except the previous post info on the dog and Grandma.

Thursday night a group of us decided to go out after work for cocktails and food, since most of the people who were going were off Friday because it was Lee Jackson Holiday for state employees and then they get Monday off for MLK Day... sometimes I wish I was a state employee...arghhh

We all met at The Grill just around the corner from our house basically. (from L to R: Derek, Jeff, Sarah, Steph, Mary, Stace, me and Chris)

Jeff and Sarah... they keep joking how they would have been the perfect couple if it were not for the whole 'gay' thing...I guess homosexuality is destroying the American family...hehehe

Mary came out to join us... she is a hoot! and well... she got folks to sing...

Mary singing some Alannis Morrisett....

and Sarah and Steph all smiles...they were troopers... and they only had a block or two to walk home... another friend of theirs showed up.  A very sassy woman named Sakina... she and I had a blast watching all the fools singing... then she go into the singing too... it was a long evening, topped off by a long night with the doggie issues.  Oh, well...such is life.

Today our friend Stace has some friends in town and we are going to meet them for brunch, then run some errands, then come home and maybe I will finally take the Christmas lights down out front and store stuff in the attic... save the cleaning for tomorrow.  Also, start getting stuff together to do taxes...yippie.

Kelly, wish I didn't already have more life insurance that I need, with an agent I've been with 30+ years. But I will spread the word.

Looks like good times to end up a long week. Wish we got Friday off, but schools being what they are with the King's Dominion law and all, we only get Monday. But I'll take a 3 day weekend when I can get it. This is the last one until Memorial Day!

Peace <3
