After all the Cricket stuff... when I got online this morning and surfing facebook, I also found out my grandma has bladder cancer. She is 86 years old and they have to consult her cardiologist to see if she can handle that type of surgery... we will know more on Monday... I don't mean to go on about a dog for so long and do a short part on Grandma, but I did not know about Grandma until after this mornings dealings with the doggie...so kind of a time line thing here...I love my Grandma and she is a strong willed woman... she will fight this tooth and nail... though, indications are she will have to go into a nursing home if surgery is n ot an option...and maybe even if surgery happens... arghhh... okay...the 13th is over... I am done... gonna take my last two swigs of my drink and head to bed with the hubby and doggies and hope that today will be a better one. Good night and thanks for letting me ramble... Love you Jeff (my hubby)

Fuck Friday the 13th
Well, Friday the 13th was not one of my better days... thank the Lord for Xanax... after getting home late from hanging out with friends and drinking (pics on here and Facebook later)... Jeff was a bit tipsy and tough to get him to bed... Chris and Derek already had gotten here and crashed in the spare bedroom. Chris and Jeff were going to go to TN Friday morning for the weekend to see Melissa... well... I got Jeff in bed and had one more cocktail while scrolling through blogs... got to bed around 12:30ish... well, at 4ish, Cricket, our 12 year old doggie needed to go out... I let her out, left the door cracked so I could hear her come back in... when I turned around I saw a small little poop pile under the table... covered it up and went back to bedroom to throw on clothes when I noticed a smell and something on the bed...I turned on the light and it was like Cricket had exploded on the foot of the bed... arghhh... I woke Jeff as I pulled off the pooped soaked comforter, but he just rolled over and went back to sleep... after putting the comforter in the washing machine, I checked on Cricket and she was stumbling all around the backyard falling down...like she drank as much as we had... I then dragged Jeff out of bed to check on her as I cleaned up poop and puke throughout the house... something was wrong with her...Jeff had to carry her in the house and we sat on the sofa with her and then she puked up nasty stuff...arghhh... we got the big doggie bed into the kitchen and carried her there... she was not in pain or at least did not show it and was just liking the fact Jeff was petting her... I cleaned up the mess as best I could then got Jeff to call his parents at 5am...(his dad breeds hunting dogs)... Jeff is obviously upset at this point, but I sit in the floor with Crick while he talks with his parents... he wants to go to emergency vet, but Crick is not in pain so, we get blankets and pillows and Jeff crashes with Cricket in the kitchen for a couple hours while I head to bed to hopefully get a little sleep. Of course I toss and turn for a couple hours... Jeff hardly sleeps and starts phoning our vet and the the vet who did Cricks surgery last year... I had to go to work, but was ready for the call when and if Jeff needed me...he finally got to the vet early morning and luckily it is apparently doggie vertigo... Cricket is fine while laying down, but when she stands up she had vertigo and has to immediately crash... Jeff got meds for her, she rested most of the day and night and right before Jeff going to bed, we put ear drops in her ears and once they kicked in, she was moving around almost like normal... I know this is getting long, but it has been a very long day and you just can't wrap up all that happened with Crick. She is not in pain. We have meds and also got a harness to walk her with to help keep her steady while doing the deeds... Vet says about two weeks and she will be back to normal...so that is a good thing... Thanks for reading, I must now crash, since I am going on about 3 hours sleep from last night. Thank goodness I can sleep in today and Jeff is around this weekend... I love my guy and my doggies...

So sorry to hear about your ordeal, glad to hear Cricket is on the mend.
My thoughts are with you and your family - grandma and Cricket
I'm so glad Cricket will be OK. You know I had to put my dog down last November at 13 years old, so I know how seeing one sick can make you feel.
And my prayers go out to your grandmother. Dad was 85 when lung cancer got him last August - he couldn't withstand the treatment, so I hope your grandmother is able to.
Peace <3
Jay
